Having the head honcho from I Hate Records should create something special within an extreme metal band and this Swedish group’s third album certainly does that and more. Entitling it “Genocide” is probably the most worthy album to be given this title as Terrorma has recorded a disc of unfettered violence both musically and lyrically by taking the very worst of the inhuman being species’ assaults on the earth from Hitler and Stalin to Idi Amin and the Ukrainian cleansing through forced starvation and the savagery perpetrated by Heydrich and Eichmann during World War II. There is an inherent sadness about this album that is underpinned by the brutalising music that invades the senses and attempts to make you relive those horrific abominations from human history in aural form, which of course cannot come close to atrocities meted out at the hands of such disgusting people; crikey even the artwork is chilling.

Terrorama’s blend of music is primarily thrash but is backed by some outrageously intense death sections. Opening tune “Inanimate Omen” has a huge Sadus feel with the high pitched guitar tone cutting and slicing through the drums and bass. The sound is deliberately primitive, possessing a primal black and white monochromatic beastliness. The sound slashes surgically into “Traitors Of The Motherland (Gulag)” as here you get a black thrash frostiness in the riffing and much like Violator, Mutilator or Diabolic Force it is ferocious and feral. The spine snapping speed of “Conceived In Abhorrence” has a wondrous riff change that will send you reeling and possesses demonic scream of blood curdling proportions as here I can reference Bestial Warlust, Destroyer 666 and even older Desaster material.

The unbelievable speed remains on the title track, a battering and emotive cranium crushing onslaught of evilness that shifts smoothly into “Coronation Of A Scorched Land” with its stupendous riff that is spiteful, hateful and rife with malice, not surprising considering the subject material about the despotic Idi Amin. More unending tyranny adorns “Cerebral Oviposition” with acid gargling shrieks being absolutely ear shattering. I’m not sure how many more superlatives I can give about how devastating this album is from start to finish as it really is an ear drilling slab of utter terror. You can listen to it at their bandcamp page so make sure you do.
