UnbornScandinavia is well known for its grass roots grind and crust scenes that originated way back in the early 80s with some of the most groundbreaking and pioneering extreme music bands that have ever existed. With four previous releases out already this band sees their next release grab the grind/crust scene by the scruff of the neck, give it a good shake by unleashing a veritable firestorm within 15 songs of aural thuggery that starts with the disturbing intro like sequence of “The Last Joke” before unceremoniously blitzing it aside for a renegade blasting incursion.

The opening warning shot should be taken very seriously as “In The Corner” continues to strip flesh off bones and is also accompanied by a disturbing video that matches the ribald scathing sonic invasion the tune possesses. “Spugilist” is grinded out very like Rotten Sound which should come as no surprise given that this band is from Finland. The blasting is clinically savage and clearly honed for maximum destruction and effect on your pitiful ears as the vocals are perniciously spat out leaving spittle dripping off your face. There is nothing delicate about this release as each tune mordantly and caustically sets about delivering an acerbic assault that continues with the sheer acidity of “Malebolge” with its demented almost mathgrind approach akin to Fuck The Facts. This isn’t to say this band doesn’t have the elements of groove and melody entrenched into the song writing because it does in reams. The riffing to “Forged In The Sun” is pristine Scandinavian filth trawling the gutter for that death metal like down-tuned riffing beastliness but coupled to a crust like beat I have always and still continue to enjoy. Relentlessly driven, “Hero” is batteringly intense with vocals that seem like they’re shredding the lungs and larynx whilst exhaling vitriol in the process.

Albums like this are extraordinarily intense leaving the listener breathless and but wanting more as this addictive firestorm of tunes closes with a duo of “Mutilator” a sub one minute disembowelling and “Trapped” which is longer yet equally ruthless and virulently deadly as I urge you to check out this noxiously violent outfit at the first opportunity.
