‘Fuck You, Fucking Whore’ is as to the point as you need from these gutter trash death metal purveyors, anyone who has had the pleasure with their earlier releases will know what to expect. This is rather filthy, ha, I love it. Ok this time around there are a few more slower tunes, a bit more earthy and ‘Nightsoil Drunks’ represents this perfectly. You may find a comparison to Abscess/Autopsy and Celtic Frost, the definitive combination of this crusty dirty death metal sound.
You may think all this dirt is far beyond the call, but simply check out some of these track titles like ‘Winter Puke Disease’, ‘The Toilet Odors’ and ‘Stinkhole’, although I rather like the sounds of ‘Cuntroast’ if the truth be told! This one is a little nuttier, a little more extreme like the Repuked of old with plenty of nasty punk attitude; they are certainly not in the technical death metal field.
All in all, there is not much more to say, this is dirty death metal with a perverted filthy twist. It’s endurable, enjoyable and sounds thoroughly expansive. Rather than reinvent the wheel, Repuked had remained consistent, although I will state that the musicianship is tighter and less chaotic on ‘Up from the Sewers’ than their earlier efforts. There is certainly development and each track is consistently filthy, a solid release all in all but don’t expect miracles.
