In the current grand resurrection of Scandinavian heavy metal, this 7 inch vinyl 2 tracker is very simple but very catchy hard rock/metal. If you like bands like Bullet (Swe) and Vanderbuyst; you will be in good company. This is their second single and from what I hear there is an album coming later this year, so there is plenty of material in the tank sort to speak.
The title track ‘Gunpowder Treason’ is about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot, whilst the b-side ‘Into the Night’ is an absolute marvellous song, a shame it’s a b-side. Although it’s nothing that you won’t have heard before, it is very uplifting and just simply cool to blast out loud. Singles maybe short in supply of late and in this case it brings a level of frustration as I really want to hear more music from this band! That will have to wait, all I can say is that if you like you classic hard rock and metal and want to find the next underground act to champion, then you should check out Night very quickly as vinyl’s are limited in supply, although you can buy their digital releases via bandcamp.
