AbriosisWhen I unpacked the CD and read the leaflet, I thought, that my review was as good as done. The Canadian Deathsters, Abriosis, have a killer lineup and recently joining them in the most male dominated music is singer Alxs Ness, for this killer, mind blowing EP. As is the Canadian tradition at presenting skillful Death Metal, this is no exception. Remember Cryptopsy, Martyr, Kataklysm. Now, Abriosis is a rejuvenation of the Canadian Scene.

About the release, this EP is truly legendary. Every minute is intense, fast as hell, which provides stamina for hours of headbanging . The EP starts with Crypsis, which gets to the point immediately.

It contains some pretty cool Necrophagist Melodies, some amazing beatdowns a-la Cephalic Carnage, but also their own distinctive style, meaning they may have used many motifs as a new Canadian Death Metal band, but it seems they put much from theirselves to this album, which makes it even more brutal (not br00tal! my fellow Decibel readers; this is a Death metal band, not a boy-band from Britain).

Vessel, Peering into Oblivion(!), and Apochra follow the same pattern as the other songs. Overall, this band is a true diamond, another quality release by Canada, another paragraph in Death Metal History. After all, Vital Remains shared the stage with them. Respect. These guys are brilliant. The female growler Alxs Ness is ideal, and her vocals are aggressive, deep, dry. Exactly what makes a perfect Death Metal voice.

This is pure Death Metal. I have no idea why people still using labels such as Prog Death Metal. What do you mean by that? Everything and everyone progresses as time goes by. So does Death Metal. Let’s stick to this term, because I’m sure some other metal heads on another planet are watching us through satellites and laugh at us for trying to prove our stupid, complex point with no reason whatsoever. Anyway, this EP is awesome and the band will grow huge over the years, just like the tsunami. Get ready. Do you have the guts to survive?
